Reset and freeze transformations in Autodesk Maya
Reset the position of an object, changes the values in the channel box all to 0, essentially redefining the origin of an object after moving.
To do this:
- Select an object
- Place the object in the desired place
- Go to Modify > Freeze transformations
You’ll notice that in the channel box the position values are now all set to 0.
This is useful for when you move and rotate and object, if you want to put it back to where it started you simply select the translate and rotate values in the channel editor and hit 0.
