Menu’s in Autodesk Maya, know your way around

Being able to quickly navigate the menus helps with productivity.

  • Hold SPACEBAR to open the HOTBOX
  • With SPACE held, click on the MAYA option in the centre of the hotbox to change the view (Perspective, top, right, etc…)
  • With SPACE held, click on “Recent commands” to access a list of recently used commands, useful for repeating stuff
  • Alt click on any object to open the MARKING MENU, this is a set of options for an individual object, you can add materials to an object from this menu using the ‘Assign new material’ option.
