The pokeface tool in Autodesk Maya

Basically divides a face into 4 triangles.

  • For example will split a square face into 4 triangles by adding a vertex to the center and 4 new edges
  • Converting a single face into 4 faces, 4 edges and one vertex
  • To use:
  • Select the face
  • Go to ‘edit mesh’ – ‘poke’
