Simply for duplicating objects.
- Select object you wish to duplicate
- Open the edit menu (from most top menu)
- Select Duplicate (CMD+D)
- A duplicate will be created, hit W to activate the move tool
- You can also then repeat this duplication (including spacing and positioning) by pressing SHIFT + D
