HyperShade in Autodesk Maya

 The Hypershade is the central working area of Maya rendering.

  • Windows > Rendering Editors > HyperShade
  • Or by clicking the ball icon with the reflection (Looks like a weird eye), next to the render buttons in the top menu
  • Great for previewing materials
  • The ‘Material Viewer’ on the right can be set to use either the maya renderer or Arnold by changing the value in the dropdown at the top left dropdown
  • The top middle dropdown changes the object type, you can choose things like cloth or teapot to preview the material
  • The 3rd dropdown is the lighting options, you can select interior and exterior lighting to the object
  • Below the Material Viewer are options identical to the attribute editor
  • Materials can be edited in this section also
