To paint grass or foliage directly onto a scene:

Related to atmospheric volume
- Hit ‘7’ on the keyboard to activate all lights in the workspace
- Create an object that you want to be the light
- ‘Arnold’ > ‘Lights’ > Several options
- Mesh light: Use an object as a light! Very handy
- ‘Arnold’ > ‘Arnold RenderView’ (Main top menu)
If you want photo-realistic renders then use Arnold as the renderer. Samplingand Ray Depthare the most important settings for rendering in Arnold.
To create a camera:
- To show the effects of different lights in the workspace go to ‘Lighting’ > ‘Use all lights’ (Or ‘7’ on the keyboard)
This helps with finalising the rendered scene. To open the render view click on the render button with the eye on it.
