Whats the difference between these 2 things?
A way to isolate scenes, selection masks allows us to select only certain types of objects.
Layers panel is found under the channels box (Windows > General Editors > Channel box/layer editor)
Used to view and organize scenes much like the outliner
Used to connect objects. Enables you to move an object which makes up other larger objects
The Outliner is used to organize a scene. it can be accessed by selecting Windows > Outliner.
Sometimes its required to hide certain parts of a scene to work on other parts which are concealed or overlapping.
Grouping is another way to create a hierarchy. Except there is no parent element as above, you create a group and in the outliner you see a new folder, for example you may have a ‘furniture’ group, and within it you have ‘chair’, ’table’ and ’sofa’, these don’t form a new object but are a category of object.
