The wedge tool in Autodesk Maya

Great for creating things like pipes.

  • For this you need to select a face and an edge, do this using the multi select tool in the modelling toolkit
  • Select an edge and a face
  • Goto edit mesh – wedge
  • The edge acts as a new pivot
  • The face is extruded from the edges which are not selected
  • You can add further detail in the attribute editor or channel box
